10 Simple Packing Tips You Must Read Before Your Next Trip

These simple tips for packing will help you get to the right place and will make a big impact on your holiday If you’re looking for more in-depth advice, check out the Paris Packing Guide essential Tips on the Perfect Wardrobe, which has been developed from more than thirty years’ experience in international travel and many visits to Paris. These simple tips for packing have also helped the majority of our guests who take part in tours to Paris, Normandy and Brittany.

Layer Your Clothes

Layer, layer, and layer again. Layering makes it simple to adapt to weather changes and to move all night without going back to your accommodation. Even the thinnest of fabrics, when layered, hold in warmth and are able to take you through changing weather.

Mix and Match

Mix and combine a variety of similar patterns with a variety of solid colors. This will provide you with a wide range of choices. Make sure you pack carefully to ensure that you have a variety of patterns or solid colors that match one another.

If you layer these patterns that mix and match with solids, you’ll be able to make different styles and not feel as if you’re wearing the same clothes all the time.

Scarfs and Jewelers

Jewelry and scarves are a must to alter your appearance quickly and effortlessly. Make your outfits more modern by rearranging your scarves to create a fresh appearance. Change your daytime outfit into casual attire by sizing up your jewelry—the shawl or scarf.

Jewelry that is inexpensive or costume jewelry is ideal for travel to avoid losing or forgetting a piece and won’t cause you to be a target for thieves.

Add a Bit of Personal Flair

Add some colour, glitter and heels to make a look for a night out.

I’ve frequently changed my everyday look to something more suitable for an evening dinner or a casual evening event by adding a glittery costume necklace, high-heeled shoes and a dressy jacket.

Be Prepared for Cooler Weather

Make sure to pack gloves, tights that are thin or thick, and thermals to give you an extra layer of warmth and take up only a tiny amount of extra space. These items fold into nothing inside a suitcase, and they can be carried in your backpack or handbag to change your clothes quickly in the evening or during the day when the weather is changing.

Incorporating a covering over the areas of skin that are exposed, such as ankles, hands, and leg calves, as the sun sets can make your evening strolls more enjoyable without shivering every time the winds blow.

Minimize Your Entertainment

Download your most loved books onto your iPod or phone prior to your departure to reduce weight and free up space. Since these devices come with their own lighting source, you can read even in the dark, and you can also expand the text for tired eyes.

You can also download some films or TV shows to enjoy, which you are able to access without a Wi-Fi connection. Be sure to delete the content you’ve seen to free up the space in your smartphone, and while you’re at the hotel with unlimited Wi-Fi, you can download the next two movies or TV shows to keep you entertained over the coming days.

Remember all of your charges.

Roll Your Smalls

Make rolls of socks, underwear, pantyhose, belts and socks, and then put them in your shoes, the crevices of your suitcase and small spaces to maximize all the space inside your suitcase.

Also, I use these tiny items of clothing to cover small souvenirs, and then put them inside my suitcases and shoes to keep them safe during the flight back home.

Natural Fibers Are Made For traveling

I love clothing made of natural fibers, as they breathe better and require less washing. Wool, linen and cotton always feel more comfortable, I believe and look fashionable even if they’re crushed. Linen that has been crushed is fine and also has its own style that is casual.

Clothing and accessories made of these fibers will keep you warm even when they are thin, making them ideal to layer.

Don’t Take New Shoes

Be sure to take shoes that are comfortable and have been worn in’. If you’re purchasing new fashion shoes or walkers for your trip, you can wear them at home before packing them.

Every holiday requires walking, and if you’re suffering from pain or discomfort, you’ll surely appreciate the experience less. Take care of your feet; they will have to carry you around and allow you to enjoy everything you’ve planned.

I make sure to take my feet to the bathroom and wrap them in an ice-cold facecloth every night, followed by a quick massage with a hand cream. Make sure your feet are treated well; they take the brunt of the work—their due respect for carrying the weight of your body throughout the day!

Beauty Essentials

Make sure you only take the beauty and skincare products you use regularly. Small sizes are best, and you can buy more as you go. The cost of purchasing beauty products is worth the space and weight savings.

Certain beauty products can double up and help you save space.
